Conception II Children of Seven Stars Hits Steam August 19

This morning Spike Chunsoft (the developers known for Zero Escape and Danganronpa) announced that they will be bringing Conception II Children of Seven Stars to Steam on August 19th for $19.99. The game will include dual audio, and the launch edition will be marked down 20% and include a mini OST (more than likely the same one that came with the 3DS and PS Vita versions)

Conception II is the sequel to the PSP game Conception, and originally launched on the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita back in 2014. Perhaps with Spike Chunsoft venturing more into PC gaming we could finally see a localization of the first game on PC.

Grand Kingdom Review – Grand Tactics

Platform: Playstation 4, Playstation Vita

Developer: Monochrome

Publisher: NIS America

ESRB Rating: T

Thank You NISA America for providing a review copy of this game.

Every once in a blue moon there is a primarily single-player RPG with an online component. Usually these modes aren’t necessarily important to the game and can largely be left alone. Grand Kingdom is different in that its online mode isn’t some afterthought, but, better yet, a perfect extension of what’s provided in its single player offerings2016-06-09-084048 Read the rest of this entry

7th Dragon III Code VFD Review-SEGA’s Summer Surprise

7th Dragon III Code VFD

Developer: Imageepoch

Publisher: SEGA USA

ESRB Rating: T

Release Date: July 12th

MSRP:$39.99

Thank You SEGA for a providing a Review Copy

7th Dragon III Code VFD is the fourth and final game in the 7th Dragon series, but is the first game in the series to make it over to the west. The big selling point about 7th Dragon is the fact the games main character and all party members are completely customizable. When you start out the game you are asked to create your main character from one of the many different character models, classes and voices. You do this with all of your party members, meaning you have complete control over how you want to stack your team, and it’s entirely up to you on how you want to play this game.  While, in theory, making all of the playable characters a clean slate could hamper on the game’s overall story, I can say without any doubt that the game’s story is quite enjoyable and will keep you hanging on from the start to finish.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse Releases September 20th

In the wake of the news of Atlus announcing a new European publisher, Atlus just recently announced the North American release date for Shin Megami Tensei IV:Apocalypse. The game will be released in North America on September 20th.

Don’t let your guard down – the end is nigh! Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse will release in the Americas on Sept. 20. And for our European fans, as mentioned in a separate announcement this morning, SMTIVA will be released physically and digitally in PAL regions by our new partner, Deep Silver. (Release date for Europe is still TBD)

While it is unfortunate that there is currently no European release date, it is good to see that the game will still hit Europe in a physical and digital format unlike Shin Megami Tensei IV which only was released digitally.

With the release date news Atlus released a new trailer showing off all the new characters here:

Deep Silver is now Publishing Atlus and Select SEGA Games in Europe

This morning Deep Silver came out with an announcement about a partnership with Atlus and SEGA:

It is good to see that Atlus has found another publisher after NISA decided to go their separate ways from the JRPG giant. In the past Atlus and select SEGA games have had a difficult time making their way into Europe. Let’s hope that this new deal between Atlus and Deep Silver will speed up the time it takes games to hit Europe. Deep Silver has confirmed their first games they are brining over are Persona 5 and Shin Megami Tensei IV:Apocalypse.

Update: Atlus has released an official PR release in light of the news, including a statement from Deep Silver:

Munich, Germany, July 6 – Deep Silver, SEGA® of America, Inc., and Atlus U.S.A., Inc.are entering a collaboration to publish multiple ATLUS- and SEGA-brand titles on consoles and handheld devices across all European & PAL territories.
The publishing deal will cover the wide array of future titles for both physical and digital versions across PAL territories, including the SEGA title 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, and the ATLUS titles Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, and the hotly anticipated Persona 5.
We are delighted to have signed this publishing partnership and look forward to using all our pan-European publishing network to maximize the potential of the ATLUS and SEGA games” said Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media/Deep Silver.

“In entering this partnership with Deep Silver, I am truly delighted we will be able to release our titles in the European regions,” said Naoto Hiraoka, CEO, Atlus U.S.A., Inc., and senior vice president of publishing, Sega of America, Inc. “Not only does the deal span multiple titles, but Deep Silver has a strong presence in European and PAL retailers. They have a strong passion for being able to deliver physical games to our fans in those territories, which we hold in high regard.”

It should also note the first 3DS game they will be publishing 7th Dragon III Code:VFD won’t launch at the same time it does in the US.

Zero Time Dilemma review: Face 999 Dilemmas and the Reward is Won

Platform:Nintendo 3DS, PS Vita, PC (version played)

Developer: Spike-Chunsoft, Abstraction Games (PC)

Publisher:Aksys, Spike-Chunsoft (PC)

ESRB Rating:M

Thank You Spike-Chunsoft for providing a review copy of this game.

Back in 2009 the first Zero Escape game known as 999: 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors was released. While it didn’t sell very well, it ended up being a cult classic, and deemed one of the Nintendo DS’s best games on the system. Series director and writer Kotaro Uchikoshi was given a second chance and released it’s award winning sequel Virtues Last Reward. Of course, awards are nice, but subpar sales are not thus, the series was quietly canceled… Not wanting to be left off on a cliffhanger, fans asked and pushed for the trilogy to at least be completed, and, through a miracle, Spike-Chunsoft decided to green light it. Please note that because this game was greenlit out of fan demand, it is highly suggested that you play the previous two entries first as it’ll be very easy to get lost if you don’t have any background knowledge of what’s happening.
