Dementium Remastered Review: Atmosphereic Horror Done Right

Dementium Remastered

After a rejected pitch of a portable Silent Hill game to Konami back in the mid-00s, Renegade Kid decided to take their idea of an atmospheric horror game and make it into their own original IP for the Nintendo DS. This game was known as Dementium: The Ward. Dementium easily became a cult classic on the original DS, spawning its very own follow up, Dementium 2. Now, eight years later, Dementium: The Ward returns on the Nintendo 3DS as Dementium Remastered. So how does this remaster stand up to the original? Well, I can tell you right now it’s a much needed fresh coat of paint.

New Screen Shots of Harvest Moon Seeds of Memories.

In the most recent developers blog for Harvest Moon Seeds of Memories, Natsume has finally shared official screenshots of the game.

The game is clearly taking inspiration from the earlier games in the series with its current art style. It is also clear to see that the game looks a lot better than its original presentation at E3 this year. It’ll be interesting to see how Natsume’s second attempt with their own stand alone Harvest Moon game will hold up. After seeing some of these screenshots I am actually a bit more optimistic about how this game will turn out.

Harvest Moon Seeds of Memories will be launching on IOS, Android, PC and Wii U. The game will hit IOS sometime this month or in January, with the Android version to come the following months. The Wii U and PC versions are still listed as “Winter” so hopefully we will get a concrete date about those two versions soon!

Do not be confused with the original series now under the name of Story of Seasons now published by XSEED, the next installment in that franchise is called Popolocrois A Story of Seasons Fairy Tale.

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir’s “Storybook” Edition Announced

Yesterday Atlus teased us about a new Limited Edition heading our way, and today we finally learn what that is!

Behold the Odin Sphere Lifthrasir “Storybook” Edition! Atlus touts it as their largest Limited Edition to date! Heres what it includes:

  • 64-page Hardcover Art Book – Filled with the original drawings from the legendary George Kamitani and Vanillaware.

  • Potion Recipe T-shirt – This large-size t-shirt is emblazoned with a helpful reminder of one of the more common uses of Alchemy in Odin Sphere Leifthrasir: turning the living Mandragora plant creatures (Habaneristos, in this case) into potions vital for survival.

  • Collector’s Metal Slipcase – The PS4 game will come nestled in a special metal slipcase with the game’s key art on the front, and a not-yet-revealed image on the reverse.

  • Art Print – Also included with the game will be a high-quality art print with another not-yet-revealed (but different) design.

  • Premium Outer Box – All the contents in the premium edition will be packaged in a large, sturdy outer box.

This version of the game is exclusive to PS4 and will retail for $79.99! This does indeed seem like Atlus’s biggest Limited Edition to date! It will be amazing to see how they top this one in the future!

However what of the PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game? Or the people who don’t want to spend the extra money on the Limited Edition? Well never fear our friends at Atlus have you covered!

Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival Review-The Definition of a Bored Game

Before I start this review off I would like to start with a little back story. When I was about eight years old my parents bought me a Nintendo GameCube. I loved that thing to death. It was my first video game console. In about fourth grade I made a really cool friend who also had a GameCube and loved it too. He let me borrow two games from him. Mario Party 4 and Animal Crossing. Mario Party 4 was so much fun when I had friends over, the mini games were all creative and the cut throat competitiveness of stealing stars from each other brought out all of our dark sides. On the other side there was Animal Crossing, a whimsical game that allowed me to live a life I never thought I would.

I played Animal Crossing religiously for almost two years straight. At the time I was going through a lot of stuff with my family, so this game was seen an escape from reality. It allowed me to live a second life. From there I grew to love the series as a staple in my gaming career. My parents bought me a DS with Animal Crossing Wild World and I played that game everywhere I went. When City Folk came out I thought the game was a bit stale but the series charm was still there, and when New Leaf hit I thought it was finally a game to almost top the awesomeness that was the GameCube version. I grew up with Animal Crossing, the series made me appreciate slower paced games as a way to unwind and relax. So why am I telling you all this first? I just want you to know where I am coming from as I write this review. The Animal Crossing series has been a part of my life since I started gaming as a child. So, with that out of the way let’s get into the actual review.
